Directorate for Climate Action (DCA)

To reduce risk and vulnerability to climate change, strengthen resilience, enhance well-being and the capacity to anticipate, and respond successfully to change.

Innovation For Climate Change Mitigation,
Adaptation And Livelihoods Sustenance

The Climate Change Innovation and Education program is central to our new focus on sustainable development. It contributes directly to SDG 13 that calls for urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.  Through this program, we enhance the capacity of communities in the different counties to develop innovative approaches for mitigating the effects of climate change and enhancing their awareness of climate smart practices. In doing so, we intend to contribute to the long-term outcome of reduced community dependence on non-renewable energy and industrial products.

Our Strategic Objectives

To reduce risk and vulnerability to climate change, strengthen resilience, enhance well-being and the capacity to anticipate, and respond successfully to change.

To realize this outcome, we work towards empowering  and equipping Africa’s youths in communities with proper climate education and literacy, enabling  youths to adapt global best practices locally to address climate change, and reducing deforestation.
